SUP Yoga & SUP Yoga Fitness Fusion

Yoga on the water with a paddleboard as your mat!  There are options for all poses to suit nervous beginners and confident regulars and all those in between – it’s far more accessible than people often think!  

SUP Yoga is about moving mindfully and getting your body, mind and soul feeling great!  The water adds a whole new dimension and makes savasana at the end even more blissful.   

The SUP Yoga Fitness Fusion class incorporates more dynamic, fitness-boosting poses and flows, but is a SUP Yoga class format, unlike the PaddleFit class which is a fitness class format.  There are many crossovers in terms of the poses and flows and I draw from a wide range of sources to include the best movement medicine in each practice!

No need to have any prior SUP skills, the proviso is that you have been on a board before, and can get yourself to the workout area and back again at the end (around 1-200m usually). I am there with you and will help with some tips and advice but this isn’t a SUP lesson (if unsure or nervous, I recommend a 1:1 session beforehand).

I’ve updated the format of the fitness class and expanded it to include a fusion class too, with a longer yoga section and some more dynamic yoga flows. I love teaching paddling skills but have decided to offer that purely on a 1:1 or small group basis, and the fitness class is now a full hour of on-board workout. 

A full body mobility based warm up, moving into higher intensity super sets (mostly alternating upper / lower and full body moves to minimise the need for rest time, and maximise effect!) with a full body yoga-based stretch and cool down to finish.  SUP Fit & Yoga Fusion has more yoga-based flows and a longer yoga section at the end (& Savasana!)

This will improve your overall fitness, strength, mobility, posture, balance, core and more, improving your fitness, function and performance for SUP and many other sports, as well as for daily life!  I’ve been a Personal Trainer for over 15 years and am continuously learning and keeping on top of the most effective ways to train and improve function, which I distill into these classes as well as with my 1:1 PT clients.

Booking Information

Sessions are 75-90 minutes, to include a short intro on land, and time to paddle together and from the workout zone, allowing a full 60 minute workout on the board.

You can book with board hire included or use your own equipment – simply select the relevant option on the schedule below (or via this link).

Sessions are £15 using your own board & paddle or £25 including board & paddle hire, to include a wetsuit from Shoresports if you need one.

SPECIAL LOYALTY OFFER:  Once you’ve been to 5 sessions, the 6th is FREE (or £10 if you need equipment).  You will need to keep track of this yourself and let me know though!. Both SUP Yoga and PaddleFit count, it doesn’t need to be 5 of the same class.

Any problems with booking please let me know & please add yourself to the waiting list if a class is full as you will automatically be offered a place if there is a cancellation.

We launch sessions around high tide at Mudeford Quay and then based on weather, there ‘s a provisional schedule below (& on the Facebook page) but confirmed sessions are launched to book around a week in advance (this reduces the need for cancelling sessions and also ensures the best conditions for the most enjoyment).  Please make sure you are on the mailing list and I’ll email you directly as soon as sessions are launched.

Please note there are no cancellations or reschedules to future dates once booked,  however you can transfer your session to a friend and if there is someone on the waiting list you can be transferred to a future date.

If you would like to work on paddle technique and skills, or build basic SUP confidence, then I highly recommend booking a 121 session, building confidence is my speciality, so this is great if you are a nervous beginner, or if you are a more advanced paddler wanting slicker turns and more powerful paddle technique.

Private Bookings

If you have a group of 10-12 people I can arrange a private SUP Yoga or PaddleFit session simply giving each person their own booking link and prices are as per a standard class.  For fewer people the cost per person is more, please contact me to discuss options.

One to One or small group SUP coaching, to build confidence on the water and to learn paddling skills, turns, safety and relevant theory (such as tides and forecasting) is available on request.

£50 for an hour for one person using own equipment, £30 each for two people, £25 each for 4 people (equipment is available at an extra cost).  

Times are subject to suitable tide and will be rescheduled if conditions aren’t suitable.

One to One SUP Yoga or PaddleFit is £75 for one person, £40 each for two people, £30 each for 3 using own equipment.
