SUP Yoga & Mindful Movement Classes in Mudeford
A blissful, mindful movement practice on the water with a paddleboard as your mat.
There are options for all poses & sequences to suit nervous beginners and confident regulars and all those in between – it’s far more accessible than people often think and is about feeling good in your body and mind – whatever your fitness level or movement experience – so please don’t be put off by what you see, thinking you can’t do it! There are always more stable options and you may be surprised to hear that falling in is not a given!
The class includes elements of Yoga, Pilates, Qi Gong, Postural Alignment, Functional & Biomechanics informed Movement, Fascial Fitness, Fascial Release, Somatic Movement & more (for a more in-depth regular land based class I run Somatic Reset classes weekly at The Retreat New Forest as well as bespoke personal coaching to address your personal movement & wellness needs.)
The water adds a whole new dimension and makes savasana at the end even more blissful.
Due to tide and weather considerations the class can be tricky to schedule (but all the more magical when the elements align!). I outline potential dates based on tide then wait for the forecast before deciding whether to run sessions. No need to have any prior SUP skills, the proviso is that you have been on a board before, we paddle the boards from the shore around 1-200m usually so you will need to do this but you can do this kneeling and I can help advise (& maybe tow if needed!) but this isn’t a SUP lesson. If you do feel particularly unsure or nervous (be aware pretty much everyone is a little of both before their first session!) we can arrange a 1:1 session beforehand. / flows
Booking Information
Sessions are around 75 minutes, to include a short intro on land, and time to paddle together to the area we’ll be anchoring up, allowing a full 60 minute session on the board.
You can book with board hire included or use your own equipment – simply select the relevant option on the booking link. The links will be visible on this page when I am taking bookings.
Sessions are £15 using your own board & paddle or £25 including board & paddle hire, to include a wetsuit from Shoresports if you need one.
Any problems with booking please let me know & please add yourself to the waiting list if a class is full as you will automatically be offered a place if there is a cancellation.
We launch sessions around high tide at Mudeford Quay and then based on weather, there’s a provisional schedule (published in the WhatsApp group & on the Facebook page) but confirmed sessions are launched to book around a week in advance (this reduces the need for cancelling sessions and also ensures the best conditions for the most enjoyment). Please make sure you are on the mailing list and I’ll email you directly as soon as sessions are launched, and / or email me to be invited to join the priority notification WhatsApp group.
Please note there are no cancellations or reschedules once booked, however you can transfer your session to a friend.
If you would like to work on paddle technique and skills, or build basic SUP confidence, then I highly recommend booking a 121 session, building confidence is my speciality, so this is great if you are a nervous beginner, or if you are a more advanced paddler wanting slicker turns and more powerful paddle technique.
VOUCHERS – these can be arranged but I prefer to know people are aware of the nature of the SUP Yoga scheduling before purchasing – so please email me if you wish to buy a voucher.
Private Bookings
If you have a group of 10-12 people I can arrange a private and bespoke SUP Yoga, SUP Yoga Fitness Fusion or PaddleFit session at the same price as a regular class, with the option for individuals to book direct For fewer people or at peak board-hire times the cost per person is more, please contact me to discuss options.
One to One or small group SUP coaching, to build confidence on the water and to learn paddling skills, turns, safety and relevant theory (safety, tides and forecasting) is available on request.
£65 for an hour on the water (90 mins including set up / theory) for one person using own equipment.
£40 each for two people, £30 each for 3 people, £25 each for 4 people (equipment is available at an extra cost).
Times are subject to suitable tide and will be rescheduled if conditions aren’t suitable.
